A rhythm, not a duty
"In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly."Psalm 5:3
David doesn't promise to pray all day without stopping. He picks a time: the morning. Before the news, before the to-do list, before the first problem of the day, he has already decided that the first voice he will really listen to is God's.
Notice the words "wait expectantly": this isn't just talking and running off. It's waiting, like someone keeping an eye out to see what answer comes back. Praying in the morning doesn't have to mean crying, singing, or filling a whole notebook. It can be just this: opening your eyes and handing the day to God before you hand it to anyone else.
To keep today
Before you open anything else, open the day with God.
That alone is already prayer.
