I didn't choose my name. But today I understand it was telling my story before I could: Chris — a piece of Christ I've carried since day one.
Some people carry the name of a grandfather, a saint, a longing. I carry His. I was born in December, among the Christmas lights, and I sometimes think God was giving me a hint right at my arrival. I grew up loving that month, that Name, that story — until the day I discovered it was my story too.
I've spent my whole life returning to that Name: in the joyful seasons, giving thanks; in the hard ones, holding on to it. And at some point, what was overflowing on the inside asked for a place to exist on the outside. This blog is that place. My lit candle.
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." John 1:5

The heart of this place
There's a rule I keep close to my heart here: welcome first, teach later. No one who arrives searching will be made to feel like an outsider — not those who have never set foot in a church, not those coming back after a long time away, not the merely curious. Don't expect a sermon or any demands. Expect a conversation between friends, a candle lit in the middle of the night, and the certainty that brought me this far: there is a Name that changes everything.
If you've arrived tired, searching, or just curious: come in. The door is open, and no one will ask anything of you. I just want to introduce you to the Name that changed everything for me. Come with me!
