The lamp

"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."Psalm 119:105

Notice the size of the light in this verse. It's not a floodlight showing the whole road all the way to the destination. It's a lamp. One of those old handheld ones that lights up just enough space for the next step.

And maybe that's exactly how God takes care of us: he rarely shows the whole way. He shows today's step. The Bible wasn't made to clear up all your doubts about the future. It was made so you don't stumble right now.

September is Bible Month (here in Brazil), and the invitation for this first day is simple: light the lamp. One verse a day, one step at a time. On day 30, look back and see how much ground we covered.
